Engagement Pictures!

This was such a long day.......I think that a person can only smile for so long!! But I'm really happy with some of the pictures. Other pictures, well they can be deleted!
Devin and I decided that we wanted outdoor pictures, with beautiful mother nature as the back drop. So we ventured up American Fork canyon, the same area where he popped the question, and had my sister take some pics of us. The trick was catching a natural smile of Devin's, with his eyes open, while I was smiling as well! Very tricky:)

We found this crazy log and rope up the canyon, it was a little scary! Devin insisted that we cross it because it would be cool, I thought I was going to throw up LOL. But I made it across:)

Happy that the day was over and that we could order our invitations:)

Jackson Hole

I know its been a long time since we wrote on this thing, so I'm going to try and catch up:)
Back in January we planned a trip to Jackson Hole! Dad, Sue, Christy, Greg, Austin, Kalum, Brandon, Devin and I were all planning on going on a little family trip:) We always say that we are going to go on a trip, like we used to as kids, so we decdied to take a trip in June.
The down side was that my two brothers bailed! Which made me sad. But the rest of us went, and it was a blast!! We stayed in a cabin in Alpine, WY. It was adorable! Devin and I drove up in the wrangler, which I don't think my sister was a fan of because she had to ride in the back seat. No sweat though, Austin and Kalum gladly volunteered to swap her cars once Christy got cold.
Yes, there was rain! But the boys had a great time:)
We drove up to Jenny lake one day and did this crazy hike around the lake. We saw a moose napping on the bank. We also took a drive up to Yellow Stone National Park, which was awesome! They still had snow up there:) IN JUNE! It was so beautiful. We saw a mother grizzley with three cubs. Very cool!

Bar J Wranglers was the one place that Devin said we had to go to while we were up there! Its this old cowboy ranch where they do dinner and a show. It was really funny!! The food was home cooked and there was way more then we could eat. Everyone should check this place out:)

Like I said, it was a fantastic trip! Great to spend time with my family:) And enjoy time with nature!

U2

This is a video i took at the U2 concert may 24th! not a great video but i thought id share. I went with scott, jenn and ryan. We took trax but it was such a pain. We couldnt even get the right tickets and you had to pay cash (ryan you owe 1.25) ha ha ha. When we got to gallivan plaza the trains up to the U were totally packed. we waited for 30 minutes while we ate and eventually had to ride the bus up there. Luckily jenns roommate came and picked us up after the concert so we wouldnt have to wait with the thousands of fans taking trax. thanks janelle!

Surprise!

This weekend was both busy and delightful! Saturday morning Devin and I went up to Shutter Booth to have our photos taken for our 50 FREE Save the Date Magnets:)
It was funny! Devin has a hard time looking natural when he smiles, unless he is laughing.....which then his eyes usually close too much and he looks silly! So our photo booth experience was a HOOT! Between us not being able to take a good serious picture and being trapped in this little booth for a while, we were getting pretty silly. The pictures turned out well! She kept the ones to make the magnets and gave us the extras:)

Chris, Devin's brother, threw a surprise party for his wife and wife's twin sisters' 30th Birthday:) He had plotted and schemed for months to pull this off because his wife, Amber, is very smart and knows when somethings up! Well Devin and I were in charge of fooling Amber into believing that Saturday we were having an engagement party, so we could get her to show up to her party:) These are the cute invites I made for family members to put on their fridges so Amber would fall for our trick:)
The Party turned out great! Both the Birthday girls were surprised:)
Yes the picture is a little off colored! Neon lights screw with skin tones LOL! But aren't they cute:)
After the Party Devin headed back to the house and did some much needed gardening out front! Making a house into a home, very important:) We planted flowers next to these two lonely, half dead bushes in the front. And of course, we got a gnome!
Everyone, I would like you to meet Reginald.....
A.K.A. Reggie
Is it wrong that I love gnomes so much......or that I wish Reggie had a pink flamingo to keep him company?
Later that night we went to the Bee's game with friends! (Scotty and Jenn are on the left) Thanks for the invite guys:) Haven't been to a game in years. Besides the unexpected cold weather, it was good times! The Bee's lost, not surprising! But there were fireworks after.
PRETTY!
We were sporting our Booze t-shirts that we won at the bar last year! He is Jim Bean and I am Absolute Vodka:)
Sunday was much more relaxed! I went to a movie with my mom and sister:) We saw Something Borrowed, which we all really liked despite the critics. It was nice spending time with them! We are all three so busy and have complete opposite schedules. It seems like I hadn't seen them forever. LOL
Devin went to hear a friend speak in church, which I'm sad I missed out on because apparently it was awesome! That night we had a nice family dinner at Devin's mom's house! Ronda's house is so packed with all of us there that we finally convinced her to move some furniture to another bedroom so that we aren't so squished! LOL
Thanks for always making room for us:)

Bridal Expo!

Devin mentioned our winning the linens at the expo....and I wanted to talk about what a fantastic, yet exhausting, day it was:) Heidi, Stella, Megan, Christy and I waited in line at the expo for almost two hours just for it to open. Ya see the door prize was a two night stay at a hotel, but only the first 150 brides got one. So of course I insisted that we be early:) I did get one!
Then the Expo opened and the place was packed. It was wall to wall women. I was so happy to have my family there with me to help. Heidi and Stella saved seats at the fashion show, while Christy, Mom, Megan and I ran from booth to booth gathering info and tasting yummy food. Before and after the fashion show there was a man up on stage giving out prizes for silly things. I don't specifically remember what we got prizes for, but as a team we won a few things. In the middle of this prize winning Devin showed up:) It was pretty crazy having him there because there were maybe twenty other guys in the building. LOL
As Devin said, Stella won those linens for us! I won 50 Save the Date magnets from Shutter Booth for having the biggest party there with me:) THANKS GUYS!! But what Devin neglected to mention is the GUN SHOW he competed in! Look at me Honey up there on stage showing off his guns! He won a ceramic pan from pampered chef!
I think we finally left the expo center around 5:30pm. We had to be present for the grand prize drawing, so we grabbed lunch and came back at five. A little disappointed that we didn't win a trip to Mexico, but very happy with the prizes we won!

Linens

So Brandy and i won 80 satin chair covers at the bridal expo thanks to Stella! We met last week with Adam from seating solutions. We didnt really want or need 80 chair covers so he let us use the 120$ value for chair ribbons and runners. We got 120 chair bows and 15 runners! He was totally willing to work with us. They have many different colors and also said he we would buy the new runners in the color we wanted if he didnt have them. Also he is delivering them and picking them up on the day of the wedding and no charge for cleaning! Call Adam at 801-473-5886 or look them up on facebook or online. his prices for runners were 4$ each and .50 cents per chair bow! Super Cheap!

Checking things off the list!

This week Devin and accomplished a lot! Or at least we thought so:) We registered for gifts at Target! Which was pretty entertaining. Ya never realize how much stuff you have until you have to write it all down. LOL With Devin and I already having so much stuff of our own there didn't seem to be nearly as many things on the registry as we had assumed there would be. He has a house already, I have everything from my house in my mom's garage......so we only needed some random things:) It sure was fun though!

In planning to register for gifts we also came across this really cool option at Moutain America Credit union! They set up a sort of registry where instead of buying gifts people can give money. It seemed like a great idea, especially for those out of towner's who keep asking us what we need.....and we can't think of much other then we'd eventually like to go on a honeymoon when I am out of class next spring:) The really exciting part is that I got this coupon at the Bridal Extravaganza in April that gave us $100 in the registry account just for opening a free checking account with it!!! One baby step closer to Italy:) Yea buddy!

Our other big accomplishments this week were the suit and the dress! Devin and I met my dad up in Layton on Saturday morning to pick them both out suits. I have to say, they are very handsome men:) I loved seeing them all dressed up. Can't wait to take family pictures at the wedding! Sunday afternoon Mom, Christy, Megan and I ventured down to David's bridal to check out their HUGE sale. It was such a great experience. I went into it thinking that I wasn't going to find anything, they were going to be too expensive and I'd never find the right dress.....Oh man was I wrong! I found two of the most beautiful dresses I'd ever seen. They were stunning! Which of course means that I now have my dress:) My sweet mommy bought me my wedding dress! We all shared some tears.....I of course tried on tiaras, with Meg's help LOL! And it was a blast. I'm told that there is a strange video of me, in a dress, jumping and dancing around.....but I'm not sure where it is or who has it:)

Trying to Keep Up...

Hello Family and Friends!
I thought I would start this blog because so much is going on and I can't seem to keep track of who I have told what to:) LOL
Devin and I are getting married in September! Which means we have been super busy trying to get everything together for this wonderful celebration. We chose Wadley Farms to hold our wedding ceremony and reception. It is a beautiful location. At first I worried that it was a bit far away, but the drive is absolutely worth it! They have the most stunning gardens:)
